In the knockout stage, the Chennai Super Kings faced the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first semi-final, while the Mumbai Indians faced the Delhi Daredevils in the second semi-final. The Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians won their respective matches and went on to play in the final.

Final Result

The final of the IPL 2010 season was played between the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on 25 April 2010 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first.

Chennai Super Kings got off to a great start with Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey putting up a century partnership for the first wicket. Suresh Raina then played a quickfire knock of 57 runs to take the team’s total to 168/5 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Mumbai Indians got off to a bad start, losing Sachin Tendulkar and Shikhar Dhawan early in the innings. Kieron Pollard played a brilliant inning of 27 runs off just 10 balls to give the Mumbai Indians some hope. However, Chennai Super Kings bowlers held their nerve and restricted Mumbai Indians to 146/9 in their 20 overs, winning the match by 22 runs.

The Chennai Super Kings emerged as the champions of the IPL 2010 season, winning their first-ever IPL trophy. Suresh Raina was declared the player of the match for his brilliant knock of 57 runs in the final. Sachin Tendulkar was declared the player of the tournament for his outstanding performance throughout the season.

Apart from Sachin Tendulkar, several other players had a great season in the IPL 2010. Pragyan Ojha of the Deccan Chargers was the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, taking 21 wickets in 16 matches with an economy rate of 7.29. Murali Vijay of the Chennai Super Kings was the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament, scoring 458 runs in 16 matches with an average of 35.23 and a strike rate of 156.73.
